Volunteer Opportunities
There are two types of volunteer opportunities at The Children’s Advocacy Center – agency-driven and volunteer-driven. Depending on your schedule, your desire for involvement and your personal needs, the type of volunteer opportunity is totally up to you!
Due to the confidential nature of our work, we do not offer volunteer opportunities that allow direct contact with the children we serve.
Agency-Driven Volunteer Opportunities
There are a few standing volunteer opportunities with The Children’s Advocacy Center. They include:
• Answering Phones: Assist office staff with answering incoming calls. Scheduled according to your availability.
• Assisting with Mail-outs: The CAC does several mailings throughout the year, from direct mail campaigns to special event invitations. We need volunteers to assist with labeling, sorting, stamping and stuffing. 6-8 times per year.
• Holiday Decorating: Every year the CAC hosts a holiday open house. We need assistance bringing decorations down from our attic, decorating the house and then getting everything back to normal after the holiday.
• Quarterly Campus Clean-up: As the seasons pass we need assistance keeping our campus beautiful with clean-up of debris and trash.
• Organizing Donations: We are constantly receiving donations of clothing, toys and stuffed animals. We need assistance organizing the donations and dispersing them to the departments in need.
• SART Clothing Bags: We are in need of someone to handle a large effort to keep our sexual assault response team locations stocked with clothing for victims. We need new clothing, separated into baggies by size and gender, in sizes ranging from 5T through adult’s XL which include t-shirt, shorts and underwear.
• Community Donations: We are always in need of volunteers to obtain donations from area individuals and businesses for our special events, which we use to make more money for the agency through raffles, auctions and door prizes. back to top
Volunteer-Driven Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer-Driven volunteer opportunities are the most creative and flexible ways you can get involved with The Children’s Advocacy Center. Read about who we are and what we do. Study our programs and the different ways they help to fight child abuse in our community. Take a look at our wish list and agency needs. Compare that information to your own skills, talents, creativity and resources. Then let us know how you would like to get involved with our agency. The sky is the limit and your suggestions and time are always welcome!
As a volunteer, we want you to feel like you are part of The Children’s Advocacy Center family. We would not be able to continue our mission of ending child abuse and neglect if it wasn’t for your help.
If you would like to volunteer, please contact Tony Broxton at (386) 238-3830 or e-mail him at tbroxton@childrensadvocacy.org.
