Healthy Families of Florida (HFF)

Healthy Families of Florida is a nationally accredited, community based home visiting program proven to prevent child abuse and neglect. Services are free of charge and voluntary, beginning with a voluntary assessment.

Families are referred to Healthy Families Florida by Healthy Start, medical providers, hospitals, self-referral, churches and other community based organizations, or Family and friends participating in Healthy Families.

Services are initiated during pregnancy or within 3 months of the birth of a baby. Trained paraprofessional family support workers provide information, guidance, and emotional and practical support to families in their homes. Services are provided for up to five years, with intensity and duration based on the needs of the family.

Family Support Workers educate parents about child health and development, teach problem-solving skills, conduct screening for developmental delays, model positive parent-child interaction, provide social support, connect parents and children to a medical provider and make referrals to other family resources as needed.
