THE 6TH ANNUAL CHAMPAGNE AND DIAMONDS GALA WAS HELD ON MARCH 13TH

Thank you for a very successful event!!

Stay tuned for the announcement of next year's date!

6th Annual Champagne & Diamonds Gala

This year’s Champagne & Diamonds Gala was held on Saturday, March 13th  at The Plaza Resort & Spa. The evening included a silent auction cocktail party from 6:30 until 8:00 complete with sumptuous hors d’oeuvres and sparkling champagne. Guests had the opportunity to bid on travel packages, jewelry and more, to include a 47 inch flat screen television!

An appetizing dinner of pork Osso Bucco was served while guests enjoyed the sounds of the Fender Benders and the excitement of a high-paced live auction. The Children’s Advocacy Center also presented its prestigious Thomas L. Durrance Community Service Award to the Daytona Regional Chamber and Daytona  Leadership Class XXIV.

Each year, the Children's Advocacy Center presents a member or group in our community with our Tommy Durrance Community Service Award.  The award commemorates the giving spirit and legacy left by Mr. Tommy Durrance, a long-time benefactor of the Children's Advocacy Center, who quietly gave of time and resources to improve lives in Volusia and Flagler Counties. This award recognizes an individual, group, or organization’s commitment to volunteer service and celebrates the benefits reaped by the children and families of our community as a result of their efforts.  Past recipients of the award include: Bert Reames, Dr. Charles Bronson, Judy Winch, Halifax Health, and DaVita Dialysis.  We were very pleased to honor Daytona Leadership Class XXIV and the Daytona Regional Chamber in 2010 for the monumental efforts that lead to the Play Therapy Courtyard, updated child-friendly main entrance, and our new and improved signage.  The emotional benefit the Courtyard and Entrance will bring to the children and families we serve exceeds words.

“Fashionable Fall in Florida” Fashion Show and Luncheon

"Fashionable Fall in Florida" was held on Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort. With familiar faces and many of our community leaders volunteering as models, this event was one to remember.

In 1982, the original fashion show was created to help provide additional funding to enhance the programs and services offered to the children. Today more than ever we really count on our community involvement and sponsorships to help us continue to provide services to address sexual and physical assault.

Holiday Gift Project

Through the generosity of area businesses, civic groups and individuals, the Holiday Gift Project provides families with gifts during the holiday season. Families in need who are served by the CAC will receive an invitation to pick up a Gift Bag that was made especially for their child. Community support of our programs and services to victims of child abuse and sexual assault continues to be our agency’s strongest asset. Every child deserves to hold on to their holiday dreams for as long as they can.

We serve all age groups and both genders nearly equally. Please begin thinking about joining in the holiday spirit for next year. New, unwrapped toys are always needed for the project. (The Holiday Gift Project is for clients of the CAC who are in need and who were served in the calendar year. It is by invitation only and is not open to the public.)

Light Up a Life This Holiday Season!

Each month, The Children’s Advocacy Center provides services on average to over 2200 children and families in Volusia & Flagler Counties. The children who come through our doors to receive trauma therapy range in age from 3 to 17. Most of them have been sexually assaulted. Others have suffered terrible physical injuries. All are trauma victims. All are hurting.

It is natural to think of a treatment center for abused children as a sad place, but in reality it is a place of hope. At The Children’s Advocacy Center, we inspire laughter, smiles and happy graduation parties; we return children to their childhood.

During this holiday season, please help us continue this important healing work. We can’t do it alone. We critically need your support. Any gift you give will help provide needed services to victims of child abuse and sexual assault in Volusia & Flagler Counties.

Holiday Open House

Each December The Children’s Advocacy Center opens its doors to our community partners to spread holiday cheer. Invited guests enjoy a tour of our campus and delicious fare created by the CAC staff. This event is by invitation only.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

During the month of April, wear your blue ribbon to support National Child Abuse Prevention Month. During this time, we renew our commitment to preventing child abuse and rededicate ourselves to working together to ensure that all children can have a bright and hopeful future.
